Bestowed is a crowdfunded wedding registry built for couples who'd rather have help throwing their dream wedding than another set of wine glasses. Here's exactly how the whole thing works — for you, and for the people who love you.
For Couples

Create your account
Sign up with your email in under a minute. We'll guide you through a short onboarding form — both partners' names, your wedding date, and a unique registry code (e.g. SMITH-JONES-2026). The code is what guests type in to find you.

Personalise your registry page
Add a profile photo, write your love story, choose a theme backdrop (or upload your own), and add a marquee of favourite couple photos. Every detail makes the page feel unmistakably yours.

Add all the parts of your dream wedding
Build your wishlist item by item — the dream venue, the delicions catering, the stunning wedding dress. Set a name, photo, description, and goal amount for each. You can even mark which items are your favourite.

Connect Stripe to receive funds
Create and link a Stripe account from your dashboard. This is how guest contributions reach you safely — every gift is deposited to your connected Stripe balance and paid out to your nominated bank account on Stripe's standard payout schedule. We never hold your money.

Share your registry
Give your registry code or direct link to guests — drop it on your wedding website, in the invitation, or in a group chat. They'll be able to find you instantly at bestowed.com.au/find.
For Guests

Find the couple's registry
Enter the couple's registry code on the Find a Registry page, or follow the link the couple shared. The full registry — story, photos, and items — opens immediately.

Browse and choose a gift
Scroll through the items the couple has hand-picked. Each one shows how much has been raised toward its goal. Items the couple loves most are highlighted at the top with a 'WE'D LOVE THIS' badge.

Contribute any amount
Tap Contribute on any item, choose how much you'd like to give (minimum $25), and pay securely with card via Stripe — the same checkout used by millions of businesses worldwide.
Where the money goes
Bestowed uses Stripe Connect — the same payment infrastructure trusted by Shopify, Lyft, and millions of others — so every contribution travels directly from the guest to the couple's connected Stripe account. We never hold or touch the funds.
Example: a $100 gift
The short version
- Guests pay the fee, not the couple. 100% of the gift amount reaches you.
- The flat fee is 4%. That covers Stripe's processing (1.7% + 30¢) plus the Bestowed platform fee.
- Minimum contribution is $25 — unless less than $25 remains on a gift, in which case the cap is the remaining balance.
- Goals are capped. If a guest tries to contribute $200 to an item that only needs $40 more, the input is automatically capped at $40 so you never over-fund.
- Payouts go straight to your bank. Funds settle in your connected Stripe account and follow Stripe's standard payout schedule (typically 2–7 business days, configurable inside Stripe).

Display name & registry code
Your custom code (4–20 characters, letters, numbers, hyphens) becomes your shareable URL.
Profile photo
A circular, gold-bordered portrait at the top of your page — instantly recognisable to guests.
Our Story
A free-form section where you can tell guests how you met, why this day matters, and where the gifts are going.
Theme backdrop
Choose from five preset venues — church, forest, beach, vineyard, cliff — or upload a photo of your own. The image gently zooms as guests scroll.
Photo marquee
A horizontal scrolling gallery of your couple photos sits beneath your story.
Favourite items
Hearted items rise to the top of the registry and get a 'WE'D LOVE THIS' badge that gently nudges guests toward the gifts you most want.

Automatic thank-you emails
We're building an opt-in service that sends a personalised thank-you to every guest the moment they contribute — drafted in your voice, sent from your registry, with a single click to customise before it goes out.
Group gifting nudges
When an item is partially funded, guests will be able to invite friends and family to chip in toward the same gift.
Post-wedding gift summary
A printable, beautifully laid-out PDF summary of every contribution and contributor — perfect for keeping or attaching to thank-you cards.
Safe, simple, and on your side
All payments are encrypted and processed by Stripe — Bestowed never sees or stores card details. Couples can edit, archive, or remove registry items at any time, and refund requests are handled case-by-case in line with our refund policy.
